Acne Treatment is Stuck in 2016

While the world has evolved in countless ways, acne care is still stuck in the past.

What is a Standard of Care Guideline?

In healthcare, these guidelines serve as evidence-based recommendations that doctors use to make informed decisions about diagnosing and treating various conditions. They provide a framework to ensure consistency and quality in care, acting as a trusted resource for medical professionals.

Putting this into perspective:

Since the guidelines on acne treatment were published in 2016, the bacteria linked to acne has had a name change - from Propionibacterum acnes (P. acnes) to Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes). This small detail highlights just how much has shifted in our understanding of acne. But there's more. Over 8,000 studies and scientific articles have been published on acne on PubMed alone since then. That's 8,000 new pieces of evidence we could be using to refine and improve treatment options. And yet, the guidelines haven't budged.

Why This Matters for Your Skin

Outdated guidelines means outdated approaches. If you're still relying on these older methods, you are missing out on the latest insights into acne triggers, treatments, and solutions. Acne isn't just a "surface" issue; it's deeply connected to your hormones, digestion, immune system, and more. The one-size-fits-all solutions from nearly a decade ago often fail to address these root causes.

Your Skin Deserves Better

I've made it my mission to stay on top of the latest research - those 8,000 studies and counting - to craft a natural approach that truly works for you. Science evolves, and so can your skin.
